What Causes Lump Inside Mouth After Getting Stitching On Lip?
Hi, I had a fall about three weeks ago, face forward on asphalt. I had 11 stitches inside my mouth, bottom lip and 2 on the outside of my lip. I have a hard bump on my lip, still sore; small lump inside my mouth. How long should it take for the lump to disappear before I worry. Is it still the stitches? Someone said it could be knots from stitches. Thank you.
It is a common problem in case of lip injury .The bump as you describe in your query is most probably the scar due to healing process .
It could also be possible that the bump is due to over production of collagen fiber again due to healing process .
In both the above cases the bump will go away by its own in 2 to 3 week .If it persist for a longer period and bothers you then you should consult a plastic surgeon .
i would like to suggest you not to touch the bump with tongue or bite it with teeth this will make condition complicated .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
