What Causes Lump Near Epiglottis?

Hi,

i found something behind my tongue, m not sure whether it is a circumvallate papillae or something else. i can feel it behind the tongue near epiglottis. I feel that something is there. is it tonsils? and my circumvallate papillae have swollen. is there any treatment for this?? I have consulted the doctor, and had said that there is a growth due to allergy. now I dont have any allergy, but even then I feel that its still there. so, please give me a good sugesstion. I m really worried, since last three years.
