What Causes Lumps On Lower Head While Diagnosed With Petit Mal Seizures?

22 year old female recently diagnosed with peti mal seizures of the brain and epilepsy. Takes Keppra 500 mg once a day and recently added Lamotrigine 25 mg. takes 1 in am and 2 in pm. I recently discovered 3 lumps on the back of my lower head 1 lump on the left and 2 on the right side. The lumps hurt and are very tender to the touch ouch ! What may be the cause? Thanks Evelyn

Hello,

The lumps seem to be inflammatory lymph nodes, probably caused by a local infection, not related to her therapy or epilepsy. For this reason, I recommend consulting with her attending physician for a physical exam. Regarding therapy, I would recommend monotherapy with lamotrigine and increase the dose up to 150mg daily. You should discuss with your doctor on the above tests.
