Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
After A major spinal surgery and I was back to my old self within a year. Unfortunately I had a nasty fall and I went into shock. Since then I have trouble with memory and I cannot get my words out at all when I try to speak. I take the prescribed medication daily: 1 amitriptyline, 1 omeprozole, 1 aspirin 75mg, 2 Adcal-D3, and 1 Bio-Vitamin cap. Normally I have a healthy blood pressure but I had 6 Epistaxis within 3 months three of them were cauterised in 2013 but recently I have been getting nose bleeds a week and I have managed to stop them. I had a Memory test 2 weeks ago and they said my memory was quite good for my age of 82 but they so they have made an appointment to have an MRI brain scan to find whether I have had a stroke. I am really beginning to get worried. I would be grateful if you could give me your opinion.
After going through your medical query I understand your concern and I would like to tell you that yes possibility of brain stroke are there for which you need to get a MRI brain done for proper treatment. Consult a neurologist with reports for further treatment.
Hopefully this information will guide you properly.
Kind Regards Dr. Bhanu Partap
