What Causes Memory Loss While Suffering From Diabetes?

I am a 66 years old female with extreme forgetfulness and slow recall that seems to be getting worse. I am a type II diabetic, I take metformin, glipizide, synthroid, lisinopril, celexa, wellbutrin. I only work 2 days a week and get plenty of rest. However, my diet is not so good and my blood sugars usually run 200-300. I don t know what other factors might be helpful. C.J.

Good day and thank you for posting this question. Your blood sugar is not well controlled enough, a value of 200 - 300 is still high and could account for your forgetfulness and slow recall. If I were your doctor, I will ask you to do a test called HBA1c, it will tell me whether you will need to start taking Insulin injection and would review the target of your blood sugar to less than 150. Kindly visit your doctor.
I hope it helps.
Thank you.
