What Causes Metallic Taste In Mouth With Headache?
hihi, i have a metallic taste in my mouth and have a headache - i'm a 31 year old male in reasonably good health, though i have high LDL cholesterol and my mother died from a brain aneurysm
should i got to a GP and get myself checked out? Or is it only if the headache gets worse
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood your concerns. Headache if not relieved by routine analgesic medicines like Paracetamol should be examined by a Doctor and if required second opinion of a Neurologist to be taken, CT or MRI of the brain may be ordered if he thinks so. Bad taste in mouth has no specific reasons and thus the cause may be varied from the medications, some illness like intestinal problems, consumption of something that can cause salivary secretion of some component and thus causing the metallic taste and rarely some metal poisoning can cause the same. You Doctor can help you further in getting the proper cause and get treated accordingly. High LDL Cholesterol may not cause such problems and brain aneurysm is not known to run in families. So no worry about it.
