What Causes Migraine Headaches Along With Insomnia Post Partial Thyroidectomy?

Hi My name is Lisa and I am a 54 yr old female. I had 2/3 of my thyroid removed back in June 2014. I have been feeling very week and light headed more than usual lately. I have also been having major migraines that stem from the back of my head all the way up and into my forehead. Doctors say it is just from stress as my muscles in my shoulders and up through my neck have many knots as they put it. I need to relieve myself of the stress in order for it to go away. With all of this, I have not been sleeping very well and prob only get 4 hours of good sleep a night.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear Greetings
Regarding your experience with persistent headache weakness insomnia lightheadness following a history of post thyroidectomy I will suggest you have developed a tension headache due to lack of sleep and possible post traumatic stress disorder

In view of this please check your blood pressure and do a CT scan to confirm other possible causes of headache such as Cerebral hemorrhage tumor Cerebral vasculitis

Schedule an appointment with a neurologist specialist for clinical clinical clinical assessment and adequate drug prescription

Meanwhile take Tylenol vasoprin pending your appointment

I I hope this helps Regards
