What Causes Mild Burning Sensation In The Chest Area And Nasal Congestion?
Lately my lungs have had a mild burning sensation. I cough every few minutes. Almost on reflex. Mild nasal congestion, with any sputum that comes out either clear or a golden yellow color. Ear on one side has light pressure, causing some slight hearing difficulty. When taking deep breaths or exhaling most air in my lungs there is an odd raspy sound made and when exhaling quickly there is the urge to cough. I feel mostly fine capable of working and functioning throughout the day without a feeling of being drug down. Typically I am pretty healthy. This has been going on for the past week or so.
* Mild congestion nose with burning sensation in the chest area indicate viral infection with airway inflammation or irritation most likely. My guidelines at present
- deep breathing exercises
- walking in fresh air
- YOGA and Pranayam regularly
- inhalation of vapors of boiled water added peppermint oil
- gargles with salted lukewarm water
- prescription of antibiotics, decongestant or supportive medicines as per your doc choice.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
