What Causes Mild Chest Pain?

have had mild chest pains off and on for a week, but have not gone to dr. because I have been pushing my husband around the va hospital for the past three months and figured it was just strain. Since it is till around it concerns me. The pain comes also when I bend over. Bad Family history of heart problems.

Thanks for your question on HCM.
You should consult cardiologist first and rule out cardiac cause for your chest pain. Because you are having following risk factors for heart disease.
1. Strongly positive family history of heart disease
2. Chronic left sided chest pain
3. Going through lot of stress because of husband's health issues.
So get done
1. ECG
2. 2d echo to rule out cardiac cause.
If both are normal than no need to worry much for cardiac cause.
Just relax and keep calm. You will be alright.
