What Causes Mild Vaginal Spotting Post Menstruation?

Hi, my period ended less than a week ago. I noticed light traces of blood today. I ve been celibate for a year and a half now, so I know I m not pregnant. What could be the cause of the vaginal bleeding? For the two months I ve spotted one week before my period comes on. I m going to make an appointment to see my doctor asap. I m concerned.

Hello,

I can understand your concern. You can consider little spotting before or after menstruation as normal and if it is not associated with pain, burning or discomfort, and as far as it stops itself after a few days, you do not need to see a doctor for that reason. It could be just a uterine tissue that was yet to get sloughed off.

Every woman feels this kind of spotting at one or other stage of life as quite normal. However, if the bleeding becomes too heavy, it is associated with severe pain or discomfort, then attention of a gynecologist to the situation is necessary.

I hope this answer helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. Let me know if you have follow up questions.

Best,
