What Causes Muscle Cramps And Nausea In A Liver Disease Patient?
Hello my name is Mike T and I have end stage liver desease-Hep C Cirrhosis -- I have had this for 30 years. I did recieve the Interferon treatment in 2000-I responded well- I went back to work for 15 years and I am sick again.I have been seeing a GI Doctor and i am not re-infected however the dammage has been done to my liver. I meet the requirements for a liver transplant except one last thing my weight!!!! Im on a healthy me program and have been both happy with and gratefull for my health care.I am now on medicade so have insurance.I have been experienceing mussel cramps and spasams, nausea, and pain on the upper right side and middle that has progressed until the pain is often a 8 0r 9 on a scale of ten it never goes away and its getting worse the last 3 months-I have tried talking to my Dr about this and am now calling daily often only to be Ignored!!??I want to talk about Pallitive care and pain meds however my Doctors always rush me out and dont want to help me---I have tried several meds like Baclofen zanaflex with little success and my GI Dr said 1 of these was bad for my Liver process. and up to Ultram for Pain---my question is why am I having so hard of a time getting pain relieving medicine when I have a terminal Illness thats end stage I am 55 years old and I am not a Pill chaser and I have years of medical records,I do not drink alcohol-- If I live long enough to loose the weight I am going on the transplant list- Should I expect to just suffer to death?
As per my clinical experience, the severe muscle cramps of 8-9 out of 10 intensity indicates underlying liver fibrosis most likely due to chronic hepatitis C infection. As the medications are not that effective at all, I would suggest to consider transplant approach after discussing with your GI specialist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
