What Causes Muscle Cramps On The Legs With History Of Lumbar Laminectomy?

I am a 41 y/o female. I had to have an emergency lumbar laminectomy w/ decompression and a dural tear at L5-S1 last year 11/22/10. I had a post op complication leaking CSF fluid as the first graft on the spinal cord didn t take, 10 days later. Both surgeries I was in the hospital for 7 days laying flat. When I awoke from both surgeries I had no feeling from the right side of my groin down the outer aspect and back of my right leg. The numbness is getting better in some spots of my leg, but I get really bad burning shooting pains through the bottom of my foot about 2 times per day, which I can live with, but now the muscle cramps in my right leg are at night during the day and my leg always feels heavy and I limp when I walk. What is the cause of this? Is it still just nerve root damage from the surgeries?
