What Causes Muscle Spasm After Taking Fludrocortisone?

I am a 46 year old woman, with a diagnosis of addisons disease, asthma and also take HRT. I have recently had an increase in fludrocortisone and continue to take hydrocortisone tablets throughout the day. The increase in fludrocortisone did help for a short while, however over the past couple f weeks, I have been experiencing extreme cramps/muscle spasms again, in the strangest of places, including my chest. These are particularly bad at night and upon stretching in a morning. What can I do to help this?

Hi,

I cannot say in your particular case, but generally, Addison's disease is associated with electrolyte problems especially potassium and often magnesium and calcium. This is a first place to check with muscle cramps.
