Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Nausea And Bloating In Stomach After Caffeine Intake?
I know this sounds odd, but in the morning I am usually nauseated and as the day goes on it seems more like I m bloated. I thought it was from drinking coffee, but I ve drank coffee for over 30 years. I also have pain in the center of my back directly across from where my stomach is bothering me.
Hello, Thank you for asking at HCM I carefully read your question and understand your concern. If you are having bloating and nausea this might be due to dyspepsia. Antiacids and having frequent small meals and avoiding coffee, smoking, alcohol an fatty spicy foods might help with the symptoms. It is always good to have a visit with a doctor to have a better diagnosis and treatment plan. sometimes a gastroscopy (examination of the stomach with a camera entering from the mouth) might be needed. An abdominal ultrasound might be helpful also and some blood tests such as lipase and amylase to rule out problems with pancreas. Caffeine makes stomach pain worse due to acidity and also relaxing the valve at the entrance of the stomach. Hope this is helpful and answers to your question
