Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Nausea, Breathlessness And Vertigo After Having MIBI Stress Test?
My wife had a mibi test done instead of a tread mill stress test due to a left bundle block. That was last Wednesday. Since then she is experiencing headaches likened to a vertigo attack, She is taking SERC 16mg but it does not seem to do the trick. She is also having some discomfort in terms of shortness of breath and a bit nauseated. Should I bring her to the hospital?
As per my clinical experience, the breathlessness after MIBI scan do indicate deficient cardiac functioning or hypoperfusion of myocardium, muscle fibers, main pump of cardiac output. The vertigo is secondary to brain hypoxia, rather than from neurologic reasons and hence there will be no help from starting SERC 16 mg.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
