What Causes Nausea, Cramps And Burning Sensation In Pelvic Region Before Menstruation?
Hi I always have nausea cramps burning sensation in my pelvic before my periods . It s unusual since after I get my periods no cramp . This month me n my husband had unprotected sex and the pain is different and more with all other symptoms . My periods are due in 2days . My breast are tender from last 2 weeks and feeling nauseted . Could I be pregnant ?
Hello and welcome to HCM, Nausea, cramps and burning sensation before onset of menstrual cycles is suggestive of pre-menstrual syndrome. Other symptoms which are often seen during pre-menstrual period are tenderness of breasts and bloating sensation. All these symptoms disappear after onset of menstruation. There is nothing to worry since pre-menstrual syndrome is a common feature in healthy menstruating females. You can take anti-spasmodic for the cramps that you experience before menstruation. If pelvic pain and discomfort are increasing after sexual activity, there could be associated pelvic inflammatory disease (PID). I suggest you to consult your gynecologist for clinical assessment and thus further management.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
