What Causes Night Sweats After Undergoing AAA Surgery?

About six weeks ago I had triple A A A surgery and have had night sweats since then. My surgeon says the sweats are not from the operation and told me to have urine sample checked for possible infection ( it came back negative. The night sweats continue after six weeks since operation.....any suggestions Dr.

Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of a AAA Surgery six weeks ago and have night sweats since then. Your Doctor advise for UTI tests that came back normal. Wants to know further.
The commonest cause of night sweats, particularly after any procedure can be:
Infection in a close cavity anywhere in the body, the commonest causes being urinary tract infection, liver abscess, pneumonia and operation site.
I would advise you the following:
Repeat the morning sample of urine test.
Blood culture sometimes helps a lot
X-ray of the chest and Ultrasonography of the whole abdomen.
Tests of blood like CBC, organ function tests.
Clinical evaluation by your Doctor, Infection Specialist Doctor and further evaluation and antibiotic cover on empirical basis.
