Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Night Sweats Along With Muscle Pain And Fatigue?
I have recently lost about twenty pounds. I have night sweats, bone and muscle pain and severe fatigue, to the point of only being up moving about three hours a day. I had a breast cancer scare in 2015. The biopsies were benign but one biopsy was sent to Vanderbilt. It was rare, but benign. My lymph nodes were swelled under my arms. To make a long story shorter, I never received a PET scan as promised, nor a biopsy of them 1inch by three inch bone lesion that showed up on my MRI. Help?
Weight loss and night sweats are two symptoms that need investigation especially if they happen both at the same time.
There are several conditions to rule out. - thyroid problems may cause both, TSH and FT$ might help rule out problems with thyroid - tuberculosis is an infection that is suspected when a patient has weight loss and sweating. Specific tests for it maybe indicated if the doctor suspects it after examining you - cancer may also cause weight loss and sweating. You might need to have a check of the breast again, check for lymphnodes, do some blood tests, etc.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General & Family Physician
