Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 54 year old African American woman on hypertensive medicines. About 6 months ago, My menstrual cycle stopped. I am sweating at night, and sometimes during the day when I am stressed or my muscles aches from my caregiver duties. (Note my pressure is controlled with therapy and is now in the 90's/70's range from 240/140; I also have allergies and sinusitis and non-sexual for over 26 years) What could be causing these problems? My personal physician says it is menopause and pre-diabetes) What do you think?
Hi, Post menopausal syndrome is found usually after menopause with a variety of symptoms like muscular tension, mood swings, weight gain, occasional hot flashes, sleep issues, bone pains etc. It eventually settles down and might take some time. If you suspect prediabetes, get a fasting blood sugar done. If it is between 100-126mg/DL then its a possibility. Try to take a nutritious diet with good exercise. Osteoporosis can start now, so resistance exercises and muscle workup is important. Hope I have answered your query. Any further questions, happy to help again.
