Hi. My husband just started having nocturnal seizures at night. He had his 2nd one last night. The first one was at 630am on september 11. The first one was a grand mal seizure i suppose as he bit his tounge and urinated himself. But his heart rate was fine and tests came clear. This 2nd one was at 6am on November 23rd. He bit his tounge did not urinate himself. But his heart rate was much higher after this seizure. It was 146. He has been feeling dizzy. The local ER has gave him Dilantin and has prescribed him a short term medication. How can he stop the dizzy spells? He is 30 years old. My question is can smokeless tobacco cause seizures? Another question is, why is he having them now?
Most of the seizures occur due to defect in brain function it can happen at any age but there may be recent changes in brain activity which leads to seizure there is no need to worry there are certain stimulations which can also provoke scissors mainly in winter season or stressanxiety may stimulate episode of seizure so consult neurologist for a time-bound treatment and further evaluation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
