Hi, my stepfather is taking Tarceva and recently had a horrible nosebleed that sent him to the ER. He is also on oxygen 24/7 and is 88 years old. He has lung cancer that shows no recent growth but I am concerned the bleeding could occur again. Any ideas to protect against this? And does this mean the Tarceva could be working against him now? He has moisture with the O2 and this is the first occurrence of a bleed like this one. He had a couple of minor ones previously.
HI Thank for asking to HCM I really appreciate your concern looking to the given history I could say that with history of malignancy of lungs the bleeding from the nose is very likely this could be due to the pathological process of the disease and in my opinion this clinical condition need to be treated as a medical emergency, hope this information helps you, take care and have a nice day.
