What Causes Nose Bleeds After Tonsils And Adenoid Removal?
My 5 year old daugther has a chiari malformation type I, and was diagnosed a little over a year ago. We have decided to just monitor with MRI s every 6 months and watch for any new symptoms. Since her diagnosis she has had her tonsils and adnoids removed, about 8 months ago. Recently she has been experiencing nosebleeds. Sometimes twice a day with a large amount of blood. Is this a symptom I should be concerned with?
Most common cause of nose bleeding in children is nasal pricking. But in few patients it may be due to thrombocytopenia or hypertension or clotting disorders, etc. Apply pressure for few seconds to stop bleeding, avoid vigorous blowing of nose.
If symptoms not improved please consult your ENT doctor he will examine and pack the nose. I think I answered to your question if you have more questions feel free to ask.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
