What Causes Numbness Behind The Ear After Suffering From Upper Respiratory Infection?
Back in July I while on a trip and I came down with a very bad upper respitorty infection. I lost my voice and a significant amount of hearing in my right ear that I haven't regained. When I got home I went to see my the doctor and put anabiotic and then steroids. It's been two months and I haven't regained my hearing in my right ear. There is no wax or fluid in my ear. Butnow I'm experiencing numbness behind the ear and pressure behind my eye. I have been under great stress helping my daughter with husband who had cancer. The cancer over came him quickly and before we knew it he was in Hospice care and died 10 days later. The room he was in was really cold andmy stress level so intense that I lost my voice.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to do warm saline rinses several times a day and apply dry warm compresses to external ear. You should do mouth strecthuing excercise such as close your nostrils and try to stretch mouth. Avoid touching or pricking ear with any sharp object. You should consult ENT specialist for proper examination without any delay and to prevent the further spread of infection. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics course at least for 5 days along with ear drops.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
