What Causes Numbness In Breast Cancer Patients?

I am 62 years old. I am 5'3". My weight is 66 kg. I am a breast cancer patient. The operation was done in 2006 September. I am taking Femara (letrozole tablets) 2.5 mg per tablet. I am to use this medicine for 5 years and by April this year I will complete two years. I experience dry eyes and mouth.

Question:

Should I ask my doctor to change the tablet?

I do experience numbness under my armpit and at times I find myself so much afraid due to cancer coming back to me.

Will this numbness be there forever?

Hello,

The numbness, dry eyes and mouth are some of Femara side effects. At the moment you should continue to take the medicine. Only if your symptoms gets worse or you have other side effects like fatigue, tiredness, then you should take advice from your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
