Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a problem with my hands going numb on me. I am a female in my 50 s. I went to the emergency twice now because the left side went numb from my neck to my toes. EKG s normal, blood pressure a bit high, scan normal. I continue to get numbness in my hands, especially when I am tired or hungry, but it happens any time. I have been on high blood pressure medicine and hypothyroid medicine for about 10 years now
It sounds like irritated nerves with the source of origin in the neck part of your spine. You need an MRI of this region to rule out that a disc-relocation (even minimal) is the cause. If it should turn out to be the reason intensive medical physiotherapy is the treatment of choice.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
