What Causes Numbness In The Thumb While Suffering From Peripheral Neuropathy?
I have non-diabetic peripheral neuropathy and have had for about 15 years. I now have numbness in the thumb and first two fingers on my hands which started with numbness and tingling of my hands at night. wonder if this is neuropathy or perhaps carpal tunnel syndrome.
their are Many factors behind peripheral neuropathy like it may be autoimmune, genetic factors, infections, tumours.. compression of median nerve results in carpel tunnel syndrome in which numbness and tingling sensation occur in thumb, indexfinger, midle finger and wrist.. proper diagnosis of this syndrome done on some specific physical test, electrodiagnostic test..so visit and consult your doctor to rule out underlying cause
