What Causes Numbness On The Thighs And Toes When Suffering From Plantar Fasciitis?

I have numbness in my left foot ... big toe and two next to it. Also have plantar faciitis and am using insert provided by podiatrist. My heel pain is more constant and involves the bottom and back of heel. Today the numbness is also in my front thigh (not in may calf). Getting xrays tomorrow but am wondering what is going on. Treating plantar faciitis for almost a month and it getting worse.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Numbness is likely due to peripheral neuropathy which refers to abnormal function or structure of the nerves.

It may be temporary or permanent and there are different possible causes.
These causes include: (1) diabetes
(2)trauma to the nerves at some point in their pathway. The x rays would show if the bones are involved.

It is possible that the inflammation of the fascia and any abnormal positioning you may have to do to avoid pain, may be contributing.
(3)liver or kidney disease
(4)side effect of medication
(5)thyroid disease
(6)nerve conditions such as stroke, ms
(7)infection such as shingles
(8)exposure to toxins

You may need to see a physiotherapist if there is no improvement in your symptoms.
An orthopedic specialist may also be helpful as well

I hope this helps
