Doctor, My father( 60yrs old) got his health chek up done last month, where his ECG showed NORMAL LV SYSTOLIC FUNCTION LVEF. 60% DIASTOLIC DYSFUNCTION and a week ago he got his TMT done, which said NEGATIVE FOR INDUCIBLE ISCHEMIA AT GIVEN WORKLOAD . But today morning all of a sudden he felt pain( ranging between mild and severe) in the left side of the chest and weakness accompanied by sweating and numbness throughout his body. And he complains of left arm pain once in a while. He is not obese, not diabetic, does exercise and don t have any bad habits.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Rather a lot of potentially serious problems. Vessel spasm in the heart might not be detected. A calcium channel blocking blood pressure medicine is helpful. If Nitroglycerin helps, then it likely is the heart, if it doesn't panic attack is possible. Blood clots to the lungs or other major circulatory problem is possible. The serious things will usually cause a major change in vitals and panic attacks cannot. Without an examination, I can only give general information.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
