What Causes Occasional Black Outs, Tingling Sensation In Arms, Hands And Legs?
So I ve been having small black outs since the age of 12. With these black outs I have tingling in my arms, hands, legs, and head and I normally have to hold onto something so I don t fall. I lose total vision and I have in a way feel pressure in my ears. I have recently started donating plasma and one night after I donated I ended up having a seizure. It started as a normal black out with all my normal effects but then I started convulsing uncontrollably. Scariest thing ever. Is this a cause of me donating plasma or should I be worried?
As per my clinical experience, there can be various reasons for the tingling, black out sensation involving arms, hands and legs as it is after plasma donation: - Vasovagal syncope - Hypotension from intravascular volume depletion - Inadequate response of baro and chemo receptors to cope up with the plasma donation - Previously existing hypotensive states
However, a detailed history, physical examination is mandatory for this case evaluation and further guidelines accordingly.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
