What Causes Occasional Shortness Of Breath, headache And Dizziness?
I am 24 y/o just gave birth 2 weeks ago, went to the ER yesterday due to my HR of 40 and I have occasional shortness of breath, headaches and dizziness. They ran all sorts of tests including chest x ray, chem panel, UA, CBC,thyroid panel, EKG and everything came back normal. What could be causing my low heart rate?
Certainly your symptoms are due to low heart rate. are you medicine like atenolol or metoprolol which could decrease Heart rate. If not then is the possibility of sick sinus syndrome which is the disease in which pacemaker is dysfunctional and usually treated with pacemaker. To confirm the diagnosis we need to put on holter monitoring and may exercise test to determine maximum heart rate you can reach. Also one echocardiography is needed to rule out any structural heart disease
