What Causes Ongoing Ear Pain, Slight Sinus Pressure, Severe Dizziness And Nausea?
I was at the doctor today for an ongoing earache, slight sinus pressure, and lots of dizziness/nausea. She said I had a lot of fluid behind my ears and called it something that started with an S and said it s annoying because it will take a long time to clear up and Zithromax (or other antibiotics) aren t really proven to help. She suggested continuing to use an antihistamine and buying some Affrin. Any idea what the condition name is that starts with the letter S? Sic-something maybe??? Thank you
Severe dizziness and nausea may be indicative of middle or inner ear problem. Wax may cause ear pain. Developing otitis media or partial perforation in the ear drum may cause such symptoms. get audiometry test done. Get clinically examined by an ENT. Since you have history of sinus, you are suggested to get X-ray PNS done to detect any nasal deviation causing sinusitis. You will be treated accordingly. Since you are dizzy, avoid doing heavy work. Stay at rest. Do not drive. stay away from addictions if any. Avoid stressful lifestyle and switch to healthy lifestyle.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
