What Causes Pain And Cramps In The Legs?

HAVE LEG CRAMPS, PAIN IN CALVES OF BOTH LEGS, WEAK LEGS, AND BELIEVE MY CIRCULATION IS POOR IN BOTH LEGS....WHAT MAY BE THE CAUSE/PROBLEM, AND COULD DIABETES BE CAUING THIS CONDITION? WOULD COMPRESSION STOCKINGS HELP MY PAIN AND CIRCULATION LEG PROBLEMS? HOW SERIOUS IS THIS MATTER, AND WHAT ELSE CAN I DO, I.E., WHAT TYPE OF DOCTOR SHOULD I SEE?

Hi

weakness and poor circulation of legs can be due to the following reasons in the following order:

1.due to reduced blood circulation resulting from narrowing of arteries supplying Lower limb

2.compression of nerves roots supplying nerves of lower limb

3.reduced amount of salts like sodium and calcium which can happen due to varied reasons.

you need to consult a general surgeon for ruling out cause number 1.

thereafter if required orthopaedician for cause 2

and finally a specialist physician (internal medicine) as regards cause 3.
