What Causes Pain And Echo In The Ear After Lavage Procedure?

I had an ear lavage preformed and this caused steady, slow ear bleeding for three days. A doctor said there was no obvious TM damage. This was about 3 or 4 months ago. Now occasionally when I hear a sudden sound I hear what seems almost like an echo in the ear in question that is very painful. This echo can sometimes occur after a very loud cracking sound or, sometimes, after a relative quiet sound. Also, since the lavage, I have been having a crackling and popping sound in the effected that sounds, to me, like TMD in the joint on the same side as the affected ear.

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello!,

Your symptoms do not seem to be related to the last ear lavage. For this reason, I recommend consulting with the ENT for a new physical exam and an audiogram.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
