Hi,

Bruising over back may take place as a result of an injury which you could have missed noticing, if there is bruising in first place. Certain medicines like blood thinners may also cause such easy bruising.

In your case, I do not think there is a bruise and the symptom may well be due to spasm of muscles of back which can take place with minor injury or by overstretching of ligaments. Please review with your treating doctor for further investigations if the symptoms do not get relieved in a few days time. For the time being, I would advise you to take some painkillers like paracetamol.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
