Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i am 71 years old lady having pain in left arm.tight muscle spasms but sharperl no breathing problems or chest pain I do not have nausea or dizziness, I do not want to call the ambulance. it was not a good experience last time I wwent in with an asthma attack what should I do ?
1. Pinched nerve, strain or sprain of the muscle.
2. Tendinitis 3. Herniated discs also cause numbness, tingling or pain in the arms.
4. Autoimmune diseases like RA/OA
5. Peripheral neuropathy.
You are suggested to visit ER & get yourself physically examined. You may require to go through few blood tests to rule out RE/OA or any developing peripheral neuropathy.
Get X-ray & imaging tests (CT/MRI) done to rule out any disc problem. In the meantime you can take Acetaminophen(Tylenol) to get rid of your pain. Your treatment will depend upon the pathology detected.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
