What Causes Pain And Tingling Sensation In The Fingers And Toes?

2 months ago I began to experience extremely cold fingers and toes, they turn white and the tingling is painful. It does not matter rather I m outdoors, or inside . If I run cold water or touch something cold, the symptoms appear, usually lasting 5-8 minutes?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Well, these are signs of certain neuropathic issues and this is most commonly seen in some metabolic disorders such as diabetes, of the most common causes of peripheral neuropathy, accounting for about 30% of cases.

In diabetic neuropathy, tingling and other symptoms often first develop in both feet and go up the legs, followed by tingling and other symptoms that affect both hands and go up the arms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ivan R. Rommstein,
General Surgeon
