What Causes Pain Around Upper Chest And Shoulder Blade?

Hi, I'm currently experiencing pains (5days now), around my upper left chest and left shoulder blade. I don't feel pain while just walking or sitting. I can even run 2 miles with no issues. However, when I move a particular way, I feel a slight pain within my chest. If I press down on one area, it feels bruised. When I cough or breath in very deep, I also feel pain in my chest. Please give advice. Thank you!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

I have gone through you question carefully. Since your pain does not

increase with exertion .. it is unlikely to be cardiac . Pain increasing with

inspiration and having tenderness on pressing ... points out to muscle

pains .. rarely it could be related to lung problem. your pain should

decrease with a weeks course of analgesics.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Wishing all the best,

Dr. D Sunil Reddy
