What Causes Pain Between The Shoulder Blade And Lower Back While Having Fibromyalgia?

Hi I m having severe sharp pain it s in between shoulder blade and lower back towards the sides like above my waist... I hope this makes sense...the pain runs to the front of my stomach....really weird... it literally feels like sharp stabs if i move a certain way... I have fibromyalgia could it be a flare up?? And would heat hurt or help if it is a flare up I have never experienced it like this!! Thanks so much for your help

Hi,

Symptoms of fibromyalgia (FM) often are exacerbated during periods of high-level real or perceived stress. However pain at backbone with radiation towards front indicates root pain. Hence spine etiology needs to be ruled out. MRI dorsal spine won't be out of place.
