Noted the history of pain from the left side close to waist, going upwards towards shoulder, lasts for about 3 seconds, like beating while it is going up, once a week for the last one month. The commonest causes I can think of causing such odd pains are: Stress and anxiety with myalgia. Spinal cord problems. Colitis with referred pain or something under the diaphragm as it can lead to referred pain in the shoulder. So the problems does not loos serious. On a safer side I would advise you the following: - Consult your Doctor to have a clinical evaluation and actual clinical examination. - Investigations like X-ray of abdomen, chest, ultrasound and tests of blood, urine and stool if warranted so. If any positive findings, get it treated.
