Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i have had a progressive pain from my neck to my shoulder since June. It hurts to raise my arm at or above shoulder height. It is worse at night and is a dull ache and hurts worse if i move it certain ways. I had a nerve test and it came back with nothing and so now I am scheduled to have an MRI. Do you think i possibly have a rotator cuff tear?
There is a possibility of you having rotator tear but most probably you have a neck pinched nerve which affects the neck and shoulder. You can do an MRI or Xray of the neck. Taking any anti-inflammatory drugs such as Advil for pain is advisable.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Olgeta Xhufka , General & Family Physician
