Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i was given a B12 shot in August in my right arm between my deltoid and elbow area (on the flat of my arm)ever since then my arm has been in pain and I can barely lift it at times, I have been applying heat and trying to "work it out" thru gently massage and movement - but it wont go away. my doctors office that administered the shot said it may have been injected into the tendon by accident and I will have to keep moving it to work it out - I think it's been too long and there may be more damage but cant afford MRI to confirm - any ideas as to what may have happened or what to do to get over this?
Hi, If that vitamin B12 injection mistakenly given in the tendon instead of muscle as stated by you then it is a negligence. Now treatment part, if you are feeling continuous pain while lifting your arm, then there may be a chances of tendon injury which causes pain. See,you will have to undergo MRI right arm with shoulder joint to evaluate the location and extent of injury to the tendon or muscle or nerve. Then and then only we would be able to decide the course of treatment rather than just guessing the injury and doing random treatment. You will need to consult orthopedician for that. Hope you will get my point.
