What Causes Pain In Arm Along With Weakness?
Two days ago my right arm started to hurt for no reason. It started as a dull ache with some weakness. It progressed throughout the night until it hurt so bad I could barely move it. I went to the emergency room and they gave me a shot of what they said was a super strong Motrin. My arm still hurt but felt much better. The doctor said she didn t know why it happened and looked at me like I was crazy. The next day I was in pain again and I made an appointment to see a doctor. My appointment isn t until August 20th. Why would my arm hurt like this for no reason? What should I do until my appointment? My arm is in a lot of pain and I need to go back to work.

As per my clinical experience, intense pain in arm with weakness may be related to ligament stretch or sprain on acute basis with possible nerve compression likely. Guidelines till the meeting of your doctor:
- Local application of analgesic gel or spray containing diclofenac sodium, linseed oil with camphor
- Analgesic and anti inflammatory medications in form of diclofenac, ibuprofen, tramadol hydrochloride or others
- Muscle relaxant as tizanidine or chlordiazepoxide in some issues
- Supportive role of pregabalin and methylcobalamine in number of cases
- Avoid weight bearing or sleeping over the affected arm
