What Causes Pain In Buttock Area?

Hello, I am trying to find information about possible ischial bursitis. Pain seems to be in buttock area, bone that we sit on. Does not seem to be in hip joint as I understand the joint. Is this still considered the hip joint, and what treatment would my doctor recommend? Thank you for your help.

hi
thanks for writing to HCM
Hip joint is grossly normal if one is able to sit cross leg and can squat. Now,for ischial bursitis my advice would be take sitz's bath, avoid sitting on hard surface, tab.medrol 8 mg once daily for 10 days, tab.ibuprofen twice daily after meals.
take care and wish you good health
