What Causes Pain In Knees?

sometimes when walking i have a very sharp pain behind my knee or knees. my leg shoots forward as if someone came up behind me and hit me there. the pain last for a few seconds or a minute or two. this has happened four or five times with the same knee during my walk. i was told that it could be a torn meniscus.

Diagnosis-Most probably Meniscus problem (Discoid etc or tear) +_ ACL tear.
Treatment-Arthroscopic surgery
