What Causes Pain In Tailbone And Muscle Spasms Post Multiple Back Surgeries?
Prior back surgeries 9. Fusion at L3/L4, L4/L5. Experiencing pain in tail bone area right below L4/L5 fusion. Muscle spasms with urination leak upon stAnding after lying down. Can only lay on left side or flat on stomach to sleep without pain. Any movement while lying down triggers pain. Surgeon is out of town. Is this serious enough to see emergency room doc?
You can use OTC analgesics like acetaminophen or Ibuprofen along with muscle relaxants like tizanidine or orphenidine. If pain is severe more potent analgesic like tramadol or gabapentin may be needed alone or in combination. After neurosurgeon is available get a fresh review and repeat scans to assess recent cause of worsening of symptoms.
Wishing you a speedy recovery. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
