What Causes Pain In Temple, Numbness In Chin After Hernia Surgery?

my husband, age 54, 200 lbs. had hernia surgery 7-11-11. on 7-18 he started having pain in his right temple and his chin became numb. on occasion his chin has a burning sensation. he was intubated for surgery--had to remove his dentures.has seen and ENT had a CT that showed nothing. still experiencing alot of pain and is not able to sleep. is it possible that a nerve was damaged during intubation??/
