Hey, I was running & jumping around yesterday throwing the frisbee. When I came down from a jump I had a minor pain in my left testicle. Its not a constant pain, it hurts mostly when I move in relation with my left leg. I thought I could sleep it off but I still have a occasional pain in my left testicle. Is this just a slight pull or could it be a hernia? Should I go to a doctor or wait a couple days to see if it feels better?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Read the history and understood your problems.
The occurrence of a pain after jumping in the left testicle can be due to the following reasons : -Partial torsion of the testis. -Pull on the cremaster muscle giving the pains. -Local problem of the testis as mild orchitis or so. -Hernia can cause pain by stretch on the nerves supplying the testis.
Since the pain is related to the most important part of the body, you should get checked by a General Surgeon or an Urologist so that you get a proper physical examination and a clinical diagnosis and an assurance that nothing is serious. If something is serious you will be ordered for an urgent ultrasonography and color doppler examination and may need a minor surgery .
