What Causes Pain In The Arm While On Amitiza?

I started online classes almost a year ago and i m not used to be on the computer as much as I am now. I also started taking Amitiza 24 mcg about a month ago. My question is my right arm up on th etop part of my arm started hurting about 3 weeks ago and now my left arm is hurting inthe same place could this be from the Amitiza or do you think it is from me being on the computer alot. It didn t seem to bother me until I started taking this Amitiza a month ago. But it has gotten so bad that i have drpped stuff because it hurts to hold or move my are in a different ways. I didn t know if i should go to the dr for this or not? Please help?

Hello,

Pain in the left arm may be a side effect of taking Amitiza. In a few patients taking Amitiza, pain & swelling of the arms & legs have been seen along with mood swings & chest discomforts (Breathing difficulty, tightness & pain).

If you are experiencing such symptoms you should inform your treating doctor so that the medicine can either be replaced or the dose reduced.

Maintain low BMI, do regular exercises. Left arm pain can be indicative of developing a cardiac problem. To stay on the safer side, get a cardiac check-up done.
