What Causes Pain In The Ears With Sore Throat And Fever?

I have a fifteen year old daughter that has had an ear ache in both ears and sore throat for two weeks. Her glands do not feel swollen. The condition initially was accompanied with a fever of 102. The fever only lasted a day. She is very weak and fatigued.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain earache and fever along with sore throat can be due to ear infection while throat infection can also cause secondary ear infection due to connection between ear and throat via Eustachian tube..

Consult an ENT specialist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like Otoscopy of ears, throat swab culture, CBC, ESR etc for diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..

She can be advised a course of antibiotics, anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen..
Acetaminophen can be taken to reduce fever..
Antibiotic and analgesic eardrops can be advised..
She can gargle with warm saline solution..
She can do steam inhalation and use a humidifier in her room..
She can chew a Vitamin C pellet daily..
You can avoid spicy and hard foods and take a soft bland diet with plenty of fluids..
