What Causes Pain In The Left Arm Radiating To Chest?

Im 37 year old women for the last few weeks ive been getting pain in my left arm which moves to my chest. I did get this last year but only when stressed. I have been feeling anxiety and short tempered lately i do think it could be stress related but unsure. Last year i was getting palpatations and the doctor told me my heart was normal after an ecg. I am worrying its now an underlying problem but was told palps was anxiety. But this pain seems to come on as the day goes on. I dont have it when i get up in the morning. I habe felt low and bad tempered. Please can i suggest what u think it is for me

Dr. Hanif warmly welcomes you with thanks for a consult!

I have carefully worked through your case, and can well realize your health worries. Being your physician, I want to assure, I will take care all of your medical concerns according to the latest medical guidelines.

It seems to be Psychological stress and Depression is the major contributor in such cases. I can't even rule out cardiac disease possibility in only the history like this. You feel less symptoms in the morning that is usually not the case in depression Or anxiety induced symptoms. But there have been seen a huge overlap of the symptoms and new guideline (as given in DSM-V) we go for both heart and psychiatric evaluation.

You need to consult a Psychiatrist and he is the personnel trained to handle such issues with success. If he says it's not related to stress, get referred to a cardiologist and have a thorough heart evaluation.

You cardiologist may go for the Physical Examination, EKG, Exercise stress test, Echocardiography and if needed Angiography.
